Oh My God, What Was That Noise!!
Part of a short series of images taken in an authentic and derelict church manse in Glebe, Sydney. It was located on the same piece of land as the original Church (which was also disused). These shots were taken during two visits – the second and last visit spooked me so much – I’ll not be going back…this stairwell was just so rivetting. The colours here are the existing tones in the original image with some slight enhancement.

Yes, what is it? Is the a bulldozer taking out a theatre? Bliming hope not – Picketers!
I like a picture that starts you wandering off in a tangent…. right back to work. I mean it this time.
Damian
Cool shot and I like the lighting. And the title – hehe – it’s like a Blair Witch moment :)

Thanks VJ, lizzy, Cathleen and Damian. Hehe Cathleen – if your new to RB there us no such thing as ‘back to work’ ;) Thanks for all your great comments on my work too – cheers. Damian, exactly! Its the creaky floorboard, the pidgeon, the scuttling rat…the shadow in the corner….

This is excellent Robert .. A bit “frightening” but superb .. Colours, composition, atmosphere …
But goodness me, what are you going to do ?? a horror movie ?? or something as Hitchcock ???
Anyway.. Very impressive work and very inspiring.. but not to go there alone :))
Be well dear friend.
ps : don’t forget me for the blue powder colour ….. :))))
Robert Knapman
Thanks Marie. I just sent you Blue Powder message .) I went there alone!...eeek. Not again. The whole Abbey would be ideal to use in a horror film – maybe one day :))

Robert I don’t know how you did it but it looks as though everything is on the same plane, making the whole image seem somehow wierd and not right, it’s as if the staircase is detached and about to fly off in a direction, maybe that was the noise….....quick duck and get out!
This image really has your imagination working overtime! Oh the power of fear!
Deborah Hally
yes there is a strange sense of perspective with this…adds to the uneasy feeling. Very effective!!!

mcdowell – great dirty old video clip
Robert Knapman
Thanks all for your comments. Yep see what you mean MB – no special trickery just what I saw. Maybe its the house…and a bit of contrast tweaking. If I go again come with me InfinityRain .)

the lines in this are just brilliant and the dark but still vibrant colours paint this picture like a world of villains and heroes
Robert Knapman
Cool comment Jessica. Cheers mate :)

A great photo, it makes you feel like the ‘noise’ is the sound of the whole thing flying through the air and crashing down on ..someone.

The light and angle of this one gives me the feeling of floating! Great colours too. Wonderful work Robert. PS – Love your new profile pic!
