One thing I learned during my photo workshop is that as the sun goes down, directly opposite the sun one can see the purple shadow of the earth and the reflection of the sunset on the atmosphere. So during my long walk out from Watson Lake near Prescott, AZ, I turned around and caught this image of the earth shadow reflected in the partially frozen lake. I also learned this is called “civil twilight.”

After being widowed, I needed to find something new to occupy my mind. I chose photography. That turned into an obsession, compounded by my love of the artistic license provided by Photoshop and the many other artful programs that help us explore all the facets of turning a photo into art.

Well your “civil twilight” is something to see, like an alien landscape; only it’s ours. How beautiful, Linda.

  • It does look alien. Thanks for the support
