I’m admittedly addicted to tigers. Unfortunately, I never see one in the wild, so I visit them in zoos. This one is at the Phoenix, Arizona zoo.

After being widowed, I needed to find something new to occupy my mind. I chose photography. That turned into an obsession, compounded by my love of the artistic license provided by Photoshop and the many other artful programs that help us explore all the facets of turning a photo into art.

very nice shot! I love his facial expression!!

  • This cat had the meanest expression I’ve ever seen on a cat. I think it’s the stripe patterns.

I love this shot, Linda ~ just voted for it in the Eye Contact tigers challenge, & I wanted to tell you why. SO MANY great images of these most beautiful of cats in that field of 22, but I focused on this fellow (fellow?) because of his most excellent expression which you caught at precisely the right moment! His face has that illusion of a slightly furrowed brow, as if he had a question mark over his head. If I were a tiger in this day & age, I’d have a BIG question mark over my head. Not just because some woman with a camera was confronting me, but because of life in general. Let’s make sure these outrageously remarkable animals remain in the wild! ~ Sheila

  • Yes, it is quizzical. He also looked meaner than any other Tiger I’ve seen. Must be the markings. Thanks for the vote.
