I have some shots of very lordly and regal lions. But sometimes the fun shots are better. This huge male was taking his leasure when our two safari trucks swooped down on the pride in the west Seregeti NP, Tanzania, Africa. The females herded the kids out of harms way, but this guy just yawned. After a bit of grooming his gave a monsterous shake. Since I was shooting burst I ended up with all this motion blur around one perfectly focused eye.

After being widowed, I needed to find something new to occupy my mind. I chose photography. That turned into an obsession, compounded by my love of the artistic license provided by Photoshop and the many other artful programs that help us explore all the facets of turning a photo into art.

Great capture! This would be good in the group AFRICAN BEAUTY, and they have a challenge running for male lions. :)
