Strength by Linda Sparks

This gent was tricked out in cowboy regalia for this year’s Helldorado Days in Tombstone, Az. He looked like a tired old cowboy. But when I stripped the regalia, suddenly he took on strength and character, so I kept him this way.

After being widowed, I needed to find something new to occupy my mind. I chose photography. That turned into an obsession, compounded by my love of the artistic license provided by Photoshop and the many other artful programs that help us explore all the facets of turning a photo into art.

You can really see the strength in his eyes. His glance is as if he’s sizing up a kind of target that he’s well acquainted with. It’s not an arrogant strength, nor a cruel one, but that of a very experienced person. The crop does very well in bringing out an even stronger focus on those eyes. Great job! :)

  • Thanks. I may keep playing with it since he’s so interesting looking.
