Torch cactus

Artist's Description

It’s easy to see why Trichocereus hybrid cactus are nicknamed Torch cactus. This one’s long calyx (or base) shows the Echinopsis heritage in its hybrid background. I don’t know its name (if it has one) but we call it Propane Sisters since a Master Gardener friend found it growing beneath a propane tank at a derelict house many years ago. Her friends now all have cuttings and this is the first year it bloomed at my house.
