To see a Sable antelope (hippotragus niger) was on my African bucket list. A hoped for but not expected sighting. In Chobe National Park in Botswana I was treated to the sight of 40 to 50 trecking to water. I was so excited that I flubbed a much wider pano. The red brown coloration of the females and calves blends perfectly with the sere landscape.
