It’s a gorgeous snake and makes for a great t-shirt. We don’t have wild pythons over here but they are kept as pets by many. Some people even get the massive ones like burms and retics, which is weird to me—I love snakes, but I really wouldn’t want one that could actually ingest me, lol.

Thnx! “Hayley” is a wild caught female in a breeding program here in Western Australia and I was able to photograph her while she was cruising around her owners back lawn. We have quite a few wild species of python native to WA and another species that can be kept as pets is the Olive Python which can grow up to 4 metres. A friend of mine recently received a “cuddle” from his Olive – unfortunately it was around his neck at the time. He is still suffering from headaches and was lucky not to cause permanent damage to his eyes, brain and esophagus, just to name a few! As beautiful as they are, it always pays to treat them with respect!
