Youve created a beautiful joyful painting to honor the snake, its mesmerizing.
In many cultures snakes are messengers conveying wisdom from deep within the earth. Ive always found them beautiful and fascinating, even while according them respect. There wre rattlesnakes and copperheads in the hills where I grew up.

  • Ariane

    Ariane

Thanks Helena – I like that interpretation of the snake.
Alot of my work is created intuitively and it is only now that Ive finished this set that I am starting to do some deeper research into the symbology that I have used.
I also love snakes and the symbolic myths around them and Western Australia has many.

I love this. Are you illustrating the story of the snake who hitched a ride on the turt’le’s back when it flooded?

  • Ariane replied

I havnt heard that story Dayonda – where does it come from?

  • s1mbo

    s1mbo

Maybe the snake needed a ride to the Ark? This reminds me of the shop opposite your old studio.

  • Ariane replied

    Hi s1mbo
    What shop was that?
I thought it was a youth hostel.
