Acrylic paint on canvas board
Sorry for the lack of words to explain these last postings.
I find that when I concentrate on the texture, shape, colour and pattern in a painting, the subject matter then becomes a portrayal of my subconcious – and that takes a while to interpret and understand.
I have to distance myself a bit from the work and then the meanings become clear.
Of course I am always grateful for your interpretations – so please do leave a comment.

Wonderful composition. Every surface is beautifully coloured and textured. These birds and the flowers look so pretty and peaceful.
Ariane replied
Thanks – I struggled with this painting and despaired that it would never look right but finally I am really happy with it.

Hi Ariane,
This painting caught my eyes instantly, wonderful colours used here and I certainly like what you did with those feathers :
) It seems to me that these 2 birds are heading somewhere in a somewhat purposeful fashion makes me wonder where they might be headed to ;)Ariane replied
Headed together into the wonderful future I think. I got the lovely feathered look by using many layers.

i wish i could be there to experience the whole visual fully! i once took classes at the university of new mexico in taos and did a similar thing with food candles costume and art work to illustrate a paper and point. it was so well received giving others ideas beyond the standard of just writing a paper. for me, it i was a holistic approach to the point pointing towards the truth that we are more than we think we are and that feeling is a major! since feelings are our greatest teachers and since feelings are experiential. does that make sense?
Ariane replied
Thanks for your long and detailed comments.
I would love to go to Taos.
Yes it all makes perfect sense to me.

p.s. just reading your statement…..feelings are hard to put into words and i wonder if we have to know right away or ever, for that matter ,what the meaning is. the medicinal work of art is sometimes invisible yet no less profound. i would like to gather the words together to express this….words that the general public can relate to…..the value of art as healing….just like massage vitamins education therapy politics food etc…it’s all equally valuable! that we may find the support we need to keep doing the work….since we all need food and shelter and time to do the unseen and unexplainable work of the soul. the world needs us and i need to feel that support in order to keep going.

The colours give a warm feeling so I get the togetherness of this work. The eye’s seem open & honest perhaps a little niave. Someone might be a little sensitive & easily hurt perhaps. x
Fine art work
Ariane replied
Yes – you are quite right about the eyes – I never noticed that before.
Great comment Robin – I really appreciate people telling me what they see in my work.

Your welcome Ariane. When I paint or take artistic photographs I always feel I’m giving away a part of myself. So if my art work is sad or niave then I am too. I suspect you possibly wear your heart on your sleeve at times as I know I do. I can be overly sensitive easily hurt.
But then that might not be true of your good self.
xx

I just replied to your last comment but pressed the wrong button – its above this one.

I think being naive and open is one of the ways artists have to be to capture the visions that we do.
Yes overly sensitive with my heart on my sleeve – a fine description of my good self.

I just replied to your comment above the one above this one. I’m getting dizzy now!! LOL!!
I think all artistic people pay a price for their art & sometimes the price can be a great deal of inner pain. X
