Niflheim

Water
dances between
flexing fragile fingers,
creating flickering reflections

Which scatter,
then coalesce in
amorphous ephemeral movements;
an act from a crystalline orchestra
that crashes out for the silent
lines that wade through,
waist-high, from
slowly shifting shores.

Above is below:
two worlds connect
in the passing of lives
and in the eyes of mourners,
vague abstract vistas
are painted in a
flowing, mirrored majesty;
forever fluctuating
without and within the
waves of free-fall flows

As time slows
to frames of voids,
ice, and static mist:
a microcosm that binds
bodies to abaddon,
passing through
the walls of sleep.

From here I see naught but
the collisions of comets
as I gaze into the
Water.

Well, here’s my first submission to RedBubble. This was originally written in September of 2006; it’s hard to believe that it was a year ago, but there it is. Twelve months on and it has seen little revision, although it could probably do with some tweaking. I’m no serious writer by any means, but I’ll be sharing more as I go.

Thankyou, and enjoy.
