Riding through the countryside of northern Aberdeenshire, Scotland, was in many ways like stepping back in time. Stone farmhouses and weathered barns squatting in the corners of fields thick with long, fragrant grasses dotted the landscape as I’m sure they have for centuries.

Then we passed this place! It was nothing that I would have expected to find and yet fascinating in its own way. I found myself mesmerized by the clean lines of the field, punctuated at the top of the hill by an operating wind turbine. What a fresh and unexpected sight!
