The Apiarist of Life Understands The Deeper Stings

A tongue cut at the intersection of thoughts
unknown what is there residing
long stares not revealing
daggers writing out accusation

For knowing the mind of another
swim in their gray matter
understanding the oxygen of choice
Years with someone in our immediate frame
still to come up with a little or naught

Presume the outlines of wishes and bequeaths
Write a crossword in snarly cryptic clues
The long and longer tale competes

Walk a little slower
let the leaves fall

An angry fist entreats to create a better world
Expect the worst
a bogey with deadly arrows
Close up to innocence
Guilty is the charge of voices paving their say

Do not harm the collector of the bees
The apiarist of life understands the deeper stings
Teach with your honey
lock away the arsenic of bad honeycomb

What befalls the tides
The prediction is unknown
We stand in hope for understanding the cut and sting

The Apiarist of Life Understands The Deeper Stings by

Hungry . Angry . Lonely . Tired . Sad
A wise person told me if you are feeling any of these then HALT and wait for calm before proceeding

Feelings and words fall on to the page
Sometimes they bite back
Sometimes they tug on our sleeve
Sometimes they have a cheeky grin
They stay once a page has found them
Words are faithful to us even in the dark

a true and gentle wisdom set before my eyes …have read this three times…for I have found calm in every line and i shall walk a little slower and let the leaves fall xx

  • Hi ya
It is rather a ‘grown up’ philosophy that I self-talk myself with ..mind you I still knee jerk and react but I am learning to wait and to make decisions based on choice that is without emotional agenda.
It takes lots of practice but it is saving me a lot of stuff ups me thinks…
    Thank you for your kind

Arcadia, what a thought provoking, powerful, beautiful yet gentle write! Thanks for composing such food for thought! I loved all the verses! Easy yet strong word flow! Peace and love be with you always…Lisa =) XO

    GREAT opening verse!!!:
“A tongue cut at the intersection of thoughts
    unknown what is there residing
    long stares not revealing
    daggers writing out accusation”

  • When we are under the pump or pressed for time, caught in the middle of something it’s hard to sit back and remind that this isn’t the best environment to be tweaking stuff, well sometimes it does work out for the best but if we were taking bets I reckon the odds aren’t the best.
And yes Peace and Love in your world as well Lisa :O))xx

This is truly such wise writing. To understand the nature of anything we need to pause and gather ourselves. All too often we live without control of our actions… Maybe it’s time we reclaim ourselves.

Your words pull the deepest thoughts from me. I love that about your poetry. < 3

  • Thanks Lorna, your presence here is always so very welcome.
I am not the best at this stop, think and then act business but have seen of late the folly of it So I have taken the time to remind myself to listen to the emotional tide before rowing out in

I like the idea of teaching with sweetness… Great write!

  • Hi Betty
Just found out who the teacher for our son is this year.
She sent all the kids a letter to say hello and told them a little about herself.
It was a lovely way to start a new teaching relationship :O))x

from tongue to sting you weave a wise tale

  • What comes first the sting or the words….
I guess it doesn’t matter really as long we acknowledge what we are doing and find the kindest way to proceed. :O)
    Thank you for stopping by.
