Sorrow's Tinder

The scent of sorrow stoops
scattering splinters
making love to forgotten dreams
Inhale of cold waste on dormant lips
benign beauty lost in the lucidity
Fears chastened by the liniment of tears
the satire finish
Sorrow’s tinder warms stony silence
the swells on our dreaming edge
Beautiful sorrow
lick the woefuller
in recognition of the oneself cries
Passages we tread passing through grief
to knock upon the door of living big

Why do we fear sorrow?
It is given to us to release fear

Feelings and words fall on to the page
Sometimes they bite back
Sometimes they tug on our sleeve
Sometimes they have a cheeky grin
They stay once a page has found them
Words are faithful to us even in the dark

    Why indeed KS?
The way you have painted sorrow is more than gorgeous…..such a beautiful poem, making love to forgotten dreams? Sigh
Sometimes we need to embrace it and flow with it and allow it to cleanse…

  • Hi Tracey
I see so many beautiful images that are sorrow driven, so I attempted to write a poetical write that encompassed the same outcome.
I will take your kind words here that I did get to the finishing line…thank you so much xxxx

we all pass through sorrow’s veil from time to time touching a quiet sadness that lays within ready for a tear to release it’s aloneness….to bring it forth to life’s full lips. It doesn’t always want or need to show itself but when it does a clarity accompanies like a friend lending a hand. Beautiful write KS. xoxo

  • Hi Cos
The saying about a time for all things …and sorrow is such a part of life.
I guess it gets bad news when it is all sorrow and wallow but…Though here I have I am glad of heart to see that you so understood where I was going with this. xxxx

What serves to push us more inward toward God is not bad, it just is. How often we label an experience as bad when it was the very thing that moved us forward to the next lesson better prepared. Great write, your lines are so soft and beautiful. Wonderful job KarenSue.

  • The road of less resistance comes to mind after re-reading your comment here Tony.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful interpretation, it is very much appreciated. xx

It is always that way, before the sunrise…. We must empty ourselves if we are to be filled, made new. From the silence, out of the stillness, then the spark of the real can finally surface, burst upon the world as light. But there is some sorrow~~the lose of a dearly loved~~that remains always a bit of shadow and chill(even if fully understanding the process) for the heart of joy. Love your writing!

  • Hi Joe
