Sloping Fruit

Branches fall upon a face in time
sympathy cuts deep a tear’s scar
reality will have a level degree

Somewhere the sound of dangling keys
rust softly

The seeker sails the grail winds further from the reaches of a longing cup
El amor apples fall off the daydream tree

Bonfires smutted without eloquent eulogies
perhaps as ought to be
Smoky signals ending days as wisps of an untamed memory

La cuesta of slow surrender
collages of ‘once upon a time’ dreams
fall and break

Clear water illumination
unadorned thoughts pouring liquid hope into the daydreamer heart

Solitary with flowers in demure bloom
orchards plentiful in the loyal fruits
baskets opening with laughter bouquets ripe in the title of life

A spring branch buds with dignity understanding the face of time heals
tears pear upon petals
Kissing fruit roll down the slope to taste life

An older write revisited, this version speaks better of the mixed fruit of life me thinks……
This image by Adelechanel sometimes known as Christopher Wren Raggatt is very much a part of this writing

Feelings and words fall on to the page
Sometimes they bite back
Sometimes they tug on our sleeve
Sometimes they have a cheeky grin
They stay once a page has found them
Words are faithful to us even in the dark

this picked me up and placed me in my boyhood years running in the fields and amongst the orchards that was once our playground. Just great wording KarenSue….loved what it does to my senses. xoxo

  • Hi ya Cos
The reminiscing lane to romp around in can be such good fun….tis good news that this piece had you picking fruit in that orchard once again. :O)) xxx

  • Hi ya
It was an old piece that I wanted to re-edit and bring a little new flavor too. Chris’ art felt rather personal at the time and still does… I can see me in the lines and colours.
Hope you are not melting in all that heat…xxx

You really know how to paint a picture with your words…the painting is beautiful and inspiring but your words stand alone as art.
