the devil seeks to hold my hand tonight
Grab me and O’ hold me in the vibrancy of life
Vile one’s fortune is sampling my soul to gain
I fear becoming the ringlet tear of mortal breath
a caressing fall to find end upon your cheek
A weary plummet of waiting hopes
The ’ Lord of Darkness ’ covets my eternal dance
lusting on the fragility of my earthly tenured soul
He thrusts his demon tongue into the leaking cracks
salivating on the weakling treacle of me
He struts his copulation stance
Envelop the wine of your metered words to steady my walk
a mast to holdfast while the dark one eyes suckle
Decimating odyssey for those who cannot reach for fingertips

Demons thirst their own blood when love is truly heard,... you so have it in this piece… when we allow ourselves to listen beyond our own script, we can truely accept the wonder of another love in every form that that can take. Beautiful dear karen. xxx

Far out Karen…I removed my “concrete hands from my ears’ just long enough to ‘hear’ this.
This is a write from the ‘depths’ of that very sacred place. It is both an intense plea and thunderous warning, i am frozen with the complexity of your words.

Love is an awesome power…...Demons thirst their own blood when love is truly heard…...I have read this countless times now and no matter how I try I keep coming back to this line. I will add this as a side note though…..the more we feel love the more the ‘Lord of Darkness’ hungers for our soul and if we feel weak in our convictions he will find those leaking cracks. So in my own voice of softly, softly I say trust in yourself and then that ‘Lord of Darkness’ you can invite in, if so wish, on your own terms.xo
ArcadiaTempest replied
Hmm inviting that ’ Lord of Darkness’ in on my own terms…perhaps for dinner to ask a galleon of questions… I thank you for you have given one very tired Tempest an idea for a very interesting evenings entertainment me thinks! XX

ArcadiaTempest replied
Hi Lee…for sure there is both of this in us. I guess finding the devil and not feeding into that is a quest we take on when we want to grow more…. And yeh I know baseball…my son is playing a kiddies version called TBall. I still get so confused with the rules though!

the last two lines are so powerful and haunting,
I’ve now read this several times and each time there is a further insight.
there is such an internal battle where love is concerned…is it love we truly wish for or is it the feel we derive when we feel loved?
I honestly find it easier to love
than to be loved…
question is why..
something I’m working on.
xoxo
ArcadiaTempest replied
Is it love or the feeling we derive from being loved….Oh it is both, all of the above me thinks.
Loving and being loved may not come from the same source but when it does….So maybe this is what we may understand as emotional perfection??
Well in truth I believe nothing really is perfect and in that there is perfection…..
The perfection I speak of here is a perfection that embodies the best and the worst of us but embraces never-the-less. I love and I am loved, of this I am sure of….getting the right combo and measure that makes us ripe is not always what it is about…but holy smoking roll me in the hay and kiss the tenderness of my thoughts if life does move us to the combo from the same source and with the fullest measure – then I think our soul really really dances me thinks….XXXX

Love certainly can’t be explained and often it can’t be understood either, there is no doubt that the demons will always be waiting around the next corner unless some strong unconditional love is there ready to fight the fuckers off… A strong and evocative piece of writing Karen :-) x
ArcadiaTempest replied
Hi Matt…thank you for your very insightful words here…indeed you are right about the unconditional love to fight the good fight. But sometimes it is also about knowing when it is time to walk away and there is no need to prepare a battle ground….walking away can be more courageous me thinks than staying.
And explaining love….I have no answers more questions about that these days …and it is working out what do we really want to ask and to be aware that we may not like the answers.
I wonder if we would still love if we knew what heartache may be around the corner…if we would still go there. Invariably the answer seems to be yes….the human spirit is an enigma in this me thinks XXX
