asleep in words by Arcadia Tempest

Currently unavailable for purchase

I fell asleep in my words
looking for the right ones
so many of them
pick me
pick me

Not certain I choose them
or if they are the master of me

So many eager words
hungry for me to see them
Sometimes I eat my heart out
trying to decide

When you can’t find the words
it makes you wonder

What will the morning bring?

Feelings and words fall on to the page
Sometimes they bite back
Sometimes they tug on our sleeve
Sometimes they have a cheeky grin
They stay once a page has found them
Words are faithful to us even in the dark

I love the image that goes with this..soft, dreamy…it’s how I want to fall asleep, immersed in the power of words.

  • Just grab the biggest dictionary you can find and fluff up the pages and there you have it….oh and to be absolutely exhausted helps too ;O))
On a less umm silly note….thank you so much, I am learning about images..xx

‘words’… “Not certain I choose them
or if they are the master of me”
    hehe… Hi KarenSue…
Let’s try this on fer (self determination) size…
The 100% responsible – 50% not ‘rule’ (making this up as I/we go)…
… allows ‘them’ to TRY to have an influence
    on ‘my’ ultimate decision(s).
    SomeTimes they get (to) me,
but I am always 100% responsible for my choice(s).
You always have my ear friend.

  • Ah your maths is interesting Lee….
percentages have this amazing way to change if the aggregate figure changes … So the percentages may not be a true 100 percent at all…the beauty of fiddling with numbers…. ;o)

hmm looks like too much wine, an overactive mind and a soft pillow…..a fatal combo…or should that be fetal hehe
We are the words, are we not.:)..finding ourselves within the dna sequence of each sentence..xx

  • Clever comment Sir Peter….. “finding ourselves within the dna sequence of each sentence” ….that line is worth stealing me thinks! xx
