Arcadia Tempest

I reckon by Arcadia Tempest

Posted on October 25, 2011

I reckon that this writing/creative business makes you fall more deeply in love with living whether it be on the edge, in the middle, at the sides, around the corner, behind the mask, naked and in the moment, wondering what’s next or taking that leap of faith.

What do you reckon?
What has the cat got your tongue?
Throw that cat a kipper and speak :)

    I reckon you’re onto something :))

  • Arcadia Tempest:

Oh at last someone who fed that pesky cat a kipper ;O)

  • Ms N. Chatter

Having just had my tongue returned by said cat, I’m discovering my voice and you are certainly correct. All senses are heightened now, ideas are everywhere, life is in technicolour. And that is a great thing.

  • Arcadia Tempest:

    Hi there Ms Chatter
Hope I can call you Ms N for short.
Hmm what a colourful time you be having me thinks and thanks for sharing your rainbow here with us.
I look forward to reading more of your creations. :))

oh poor pussy, sorry it was waiting…..

that also happens with the creative thing too….tick tock lick lock LOL

  • Arcadia Tempest:

Yeh…. and any minute now my time is going to expire on the bubble….. darn it!

  • sandra .

    sandra .

I reckon there may be a write here somewhere, kitty galore and all that :)
    Sandra xo

  • Arcadia Tempest:

Please proceed Ms Sandrakitty….. your loyal words await you….

I reckon you are right too KS….creative souls are tortured souls :-) but don’t we love it….here kitty, kitty. :-))))

  • Arcadia Tempest:

Ahh another kitty me thinks that knows the cream is delish as well as sour but we still ask for more. :O))

  • Linda Lovett

    Linda Lovett

I agree with that falling in love affect of creating original art & of sharing it.

  • Arcadia Tempest:

Linda I can so imagine when you are in your zone with your quilt making and as you finish the last stitch there is a feeling not just of accomplishment but a connection to what is right in the world…. xx

Written smitten words on kittens without mittens is what I think you mean. Kippers, big dippers and winter slippers. Sadness and gladness. Happy and a little uncontrolled anger. It makes the heart beat. Better it’s laid in patterns on black and white so we can re-arrange the puzzle. No muzzle for you. Just the way you are will do.

  • Arcadia Tempest:

Ahh you old bear you…… just know what to put in the bowl me thinks.
A hint of word play with a kipper for kitty who may still be hungry.
I think you may of written a poem here too.
Just look what happens when you answer such a question! ;O))

Hard to tell Karen, it certainly seems to make people more deeply aware of their surroundings and their situation and the whole human condition but I guess historically there have been more than a fair share of creative souls who have become tormented and depressed rather than in love with living…

  • Arcadia Tempest:

    Hi ya Matt
Re-read what I wrote and you will see that I have covered that base as well….. it is there you just have to dig deeper into the word play I guess.
The edge of it can be the impetus that some creatives crave like Sylvia Plath surely wasn’t a jolly kind a gal but she loved I believe perhaps her writing more than anything.
I guess the question is what are you defining as loving and what am I defining as loving.
It’s not the christian concept or romanticism of the word…. hmmmm perhaps a connection to something that surpasses other connections.
And yes they can be depressed but I think they love their living as bizarre as this sounds… OK there are exceptions to this of course.
Thanks for your POV….it is appreciated. xxx

    Nope, life continues.
    It’s a trap though.
When it stops flowing or stops becoming fun the
depths you plunge are frightening if you aren’t prepared.

  • Arcadia Tempest:

Indeed it can be a trap me thinks… though maybe it can be said at least there is no middle line of complacency and this must be something.
Hmmm perhaps not necessary a good thing or bad thing just a fact that keeps it all together in a frame of reference when the tunnel lighting is rather dim and that tunnel seems to have added a few more miles….
Thanks for your input here Danny which is a good thing :O))

Always a pleasure to comment on one of the superstars of Flash Fiction

  • Arcadia Tempest:

I am blushing blue with such flattering Danny…… you darlink you. :O)

it seems these days the cat has a good deal going… it has my tongue and the kipper to enjoy… it’s a playful creature though and entertaining to watch. Missing you… hope to get back into the flow soon. xoxo

  • Arcadia Tempest:

That cat sure knows how to get the cream, the milk and keep the cow in the back paddock for backup me thinks ;O)
When the time is right you will be in the flow me thinks. xoxoxo

  • TheBrit

    TheBrit

Here is another kipper for you Karen, just go with the flow, when life is mundane that is when the creative person really comes alive!!

    Brit…

  • Arcadia Tempest:

Kippers ….so that could be the secret food to have on board when there is no wind to sail perhaps ;O)
But I do concur sometimes from the mundane a mix of riches can sparkle :))

hmmmmm. Edge, middle, sides, corner, mask, naked and moment. I find this an interesting question Karen. Our words are usually a tell tell sign of what we are thinking. From this I gather you are somewhere on the edge of a corner wearing a mask, naked and living in the moment. Shame on you! Tell me where you went again?

  • Arcadia Tempest:

I went to find a place where the signpost said some words that once I got there I realized I needed some glasses to read so I went back and found the glasses to then realize that I didn’t need to read what that signpost said anyway……… :))

“Faith of leap” is one of my favorite phrases. Maybe when “cornered”…?
    Great thought material KarenSue. :)

  • Arcadia Tempest:

Hmmm maybe when we are cornered we have more spring in our knees???
Thanks for stopping in with your thoughts….appreciated as always :))xx

    Hi Tiger – roarrrrrrrrrrmeoww
yep I reckon ! Gets one down to reality in a beautiful way. No matter how far-fetched
    brings one to one’s center-being.
Stretches what one made of so that one is constantly growing, and that is
so important in life – the growth. Stagnation is a fleeting thing, yay !
Creativity of writing pulls up bucket loads of latent faith,
puts out love into the universe. Unity/empathy/passion etc triggers and releases.
Writing is a warm fuzzy outcome.
    ’Tis lovely to share. X

  • Arcadia Tempest:

It is just so lovely to see your creative urge has spilled back on to the pages of the bubble Del.
I love what you have shared here .. reading about your own creative path was really inspiring to me. xxx

I reckon you are right! I like to try the variety of positions/perspectives you mention: sometimes I am on the edge (ultimately i find that uncomfortable/disconcerting), in the middle (stable/secure), at the sides (observant/mindful), around the corner (peeking back/running away), behind the mask (guarded/anonymous), naked and in the moment (exhilarated/free), wondering what’s next (curious/excited/open to possibilities) or taking that leap of faith (jumping/joyous/throwing myself in).
Cat rarely gets my tongue. If I’m quiet (like in this poem), I am usually becoming angry or vexed!!!
Lovely, thought-provoking share you have penned here my dear friend xxx
