This painting is another in exploring the style of one of my favorite early twentieth century lady illustrators. The pose is from an old photograph of Mom and her Sister, Aunt Prudence at this age. They were only eighteen months apart in age and inseparable. Even though mom was the youngest she was always very protective of aunt Prudence who was very fragile They died just a few hours apart when in their eighties. I miss them. This painting is an adjunct to my ‘Mother and Child’ series showing the expression of unconditional love through touch.
Painted in photoshop 5.5, windows ’98.
