Mothers, love, Sweet William, freestyle floral, colorful, brilliant, wild verbena, heritage, memory, tribute, all words to describe home. My mom’s passion was Missouri’s wild flowers,her goal in life was to try to save Missouri’s fast disappearing wild flowers and heritage flowers that had been brought in by the first settlers.
This is a memory painting of wild phlox [ sweet
william ] and wild verbena. They use to grow
along side all rural roads, Mom had them
planted all the way down the hillside leading to
the creek behind our house. We use to look forward each year when they started to bloom in May all the way into the first part of June. This painting is a
tribute to her memory.
