FEATURED the ‘#1 Artist of RedBubble’ group 01/25/2010

ANABANTHA from Mexico, good music, Video???…..scroll back up to painting!

Poor mans encaustic, melted crayon.
This is a ‘Detail’ from my eleven year old son Fabian’s melted sparkle crayon abstract painting he had done at school. I asked him what it was and he said an Aztec Indian, I put it in photoshop, cleaned up the nose, darkened the eye, defined the white feathers, embossed where the melted crayon was thickest and added the gold earring.

    colour is beautiful!

  • Thank you, I haven’t looked at this one for ages so if I am really late answering, sorry. This is an enlargement of my eleven year old sons melted crayon Mexico piece that I went in and randomly embossed areas.

    this is gorgeous Norval………

  • Thanks Bev, this is by my eleven year old son. The art teacher last year said he has no talent, but I disagree. :-D———the art program has been dropped this year, budget.

OMG this is what happens when children get teachers who are not art orientated they crush the spirit of the artist within , hes lucky to have you and your wife to nurture his talent but many children dont have that at home and so they believe what these stupid people who should not even be allowed to teach say , boy im mad , u really should complain about this person with no vision , whats that saying those who cant teach lol

  • I’m afraid when something like this happens though the damage is done forever. I can’t get him to do art of any kind. Has happened in music too.

Love the encaustic texture! Beautiful work!!!

  • Thank you Dana, this is a melted crayon abstract my 12 year old son did last year in school. I cleaned it up in photoshop and used the emboss on the areas where the melted crayon was really thick.

    FEATURE PAGE UPDATE

  • Wow! Pat, you’re going to have one prould kid when I tell him tomorrow that he is a #1 Artist on RedBubble. At school the teacher didn’t like this artwork because she couldn’t tell what it was. He told her, “I know what it is, I can see it”. He’s into building robots and cars now out of old nuts, bolds and scrap metal.

You tell him I think it’s FABULOUS & don’t let ANYONE discourage him!! I can see the Indian profiles…love the colors!

  • Thanks Pat, I will tell him. But he is charging now, he works cheap, one bottle of ‘Mountain Dew’ soda pop per design. :-D
