Today
Is walking on burning charcoals
A bite of hotness at your heels
Give in to it and the narrow path
Will lose you to the wrath
Of never going anywhere.
What is the point?
The charcoal glows and sizzles
Before your downward looking eyes
Wind catches on and whistles
Scratching at your lips
A bite of it, just one
And you slip the fire’s gaze
Returning to yourself
What is the point?
What do I want?
I want to stand tall
However deep the burn
I want to dance in the wind
And have it lay it’s head in my lap
Oh, weary soul, where do you go ?
What do you want?
“I want to fly on wings
That never tire”.
I want to touch the sky
And fall back to my earth
For I am of clay
And it is where I live.
But the wind blows only
On the fiery path
Of everyday wondering
What is the point?
Where do I go?
What do I want?
One more step.
What is the point?
I’m making it my own.
Where do I go?
Ahead of myself.
What do I want?
Tomorrow.

All good questions, paths choices, it comes down to that. Tommorrow will be what it will be, you on the other hand can choose direction only, tommorrow will still be what it will be.
well said, mary
