Profile
My artworks are influenced by theories about the underlying pattern and beauty inherent in the nature and organization of matter, energy, and information. Many of my works express concern for ecological issues, the materials i use are experimental, but this is not self-consciously trying out new styles, influences are mindfully drawn together and pursued with a persistent intensity. My sculptures are drawn from a “found-object ” cocktail of elements , assemblage that tell of man’s conflict with nature . As a Mature student in shetland i completed a diploma there and went on to Taigh Chearsabhagh in the western isles to study fine art having been inspired by the environmental focus of the course which looked closely at
• The physical landscape of the island
• The use of materials as well as the elements of wind, water, and light
• Man’s intervention and place within the environment
I have just finished my 2nd yr as a student…and have a yr to wait before i can do my final yr of the BA…..so im very gratefull to be in the art community here on redbubble..
