Removing the IR filter from a Canon 350D

I have recently upgraded to a Canon 5D and want to convert (evidently permanently) my 350D to an IR camera by removing the IR filter. My friend tells me it’s possible to do yourself by following detailed instructions on the internet.
1. Does anyone have a site they successfully used?
2. Any other hints regarding this somewhat frightening experiment?
3. Has anyone done this to their 350D…
