ERASE

This was written to go with the photo Erase, but I may yet write another piece to go with it, and feel this piece is strong enough to stand on its own.

ERASE belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Everyday Life and Something To Say

Men, you may not like this one, but you really need to hear this especially from me.
I was a girl once…young.
I existed in places of fairy tales…dreaming.
I would turn my face to the sky feeling…light.
I loved to play games of freedom and fun…sharing,

and then you came.

Boy and girl:
We existed in places wild, of moss and…green
We would turn to one another, and feel the difference that was really just…the same.
We loved and we laughed and we played and we grew…up,

and you changed.

Man and women:
You existed in a place I couldn’t reach, because you thought it …fun.
You would take my difference now with your hands, tongue, maleness, in an effort to find yourself through…me.
You love for but a moment now when it suits, defining play and fun as a game when your hardness needs a place…soft.

now you choose to erase…the girl, while you consume the woman:

her existence, her sense of self, immaterial to you now…fragments
her difference has become a toy now for your…gain.
her love, the place where you grew now a place you run…from.

Male, my childhood friend, you erase me…
until my difference has now become the place I hide from you.

    Glenn-Patrick ...

You existed in a place I couldn’t reach, because you thought it …fun.” Not fun.A place that you are taught.A place enjoyable at first till you realize there are no windows,no doors,a lonely place.A place with no options,a place of being alone.A place of of such solitude that eventually it will kill your very soul.A place you are put by the world, and yes-by women as well.A place where if one has any mind at all you wonder how the hell I got here and how do I get out.Now.

    It’s a brilliant piece,your work I quoted.But fun?For some perhaps.Not I.
