Amazing Grace
I took this with more light and at a good angle
a liitle about this
The meek shall inherit the earth .This line went through my mind as I painted, a line I have been force fed since I was a child.
I have issues with religion and fogivenss. The fact one can look up to the heavens and say I was wrong please forgive me then poof it is done, seems all a bit too easy and delusional to me. I believe man has placed religion above spiritually for convenience and in turn made the innocent cower.
I think in a just world that the sin/sinner should be placed in the hands of the innocent ...what they chose to do with them is the justice.
The meek shall inherit the earth…I have since leaned that you can simply make someone’s life meek/powerless by not forgiving.
Maybe that’s what they meant?

A powerful piece April which I watched from afar as you made the changes.. that beautifully scratched, glazed and marked background is just perfect for the foreground figure and makes the skin tones literally jump with all their colour.

In modern versions of the Bible, ” meek ” is translated as humble.
Who are the meek ? they are the egoless, awakened to their essential true nature as consciousness and recognise that essence in all “others’ all life-forms, living in a surrendered
state and so feel their oneness with the whole and the source. They embody the awakened consciousness that is changing all aspects of life on our planet, including nature, because life on earth is inseperable from the human consciousness that perceives and interacts with it.
That is the sense in which the meek will inherit the earth.
Some of what I’ve written here is from a book, Awakening to your life’s purpose.
In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus made a prediction that to this day few people have understood.
And Jesus said to His diciples ” heaven is right here in the midst of you ” and I guess that’ all about consciousness of the moment, free of ego, including painfilled thoughts

sorry I meant to add comment, if people left ego out of religion there wouldn’t be all the trouble and dreadful things done in the name of religion. Jesus was against religion when it dehumanised people, that’s why he hung out with hurting, lost, lonely people

Incredible! You’ve created the perfect blackboard in the background… as though the girl has been condemned to scratch the words with chalk and is now pleading for forgiveness with the broken bird cradled in her palm. Beautifully painted figure… I think you’ve achieved what you set out to with this piece—the glazed, empty eyes and the posture of the girl give the sense that she has cleansed herself to the point of nothingness and is now completely tame as she bares her entire soul… truly meek.

Your symbolism is rich and your placement sends a powerful message…...............rising up is my hope here.
