We Can't Plan For The Weather

sometimes I need that little bit of inspiring ….and it seems when I feel I have run out of things to say with my art someone says something that sparks me …yesterday I had coffee with somone and she said “can’t plan for the weather” ....its is like the world knows when certain things should be said … I took those words home on a napkin…and it made me create this -thank you you know who you are:)

We Can’t plan for the weather

I look up at the ominous black clouds that hang above you
And I hope for another day that they will hold on
That this cruelty of the world will finally decided to play fair with you
And keep you warm and wanted
Because you know love we can’t plan for the weather
But I can shelter you from the days twisted with insanity
The ones whose roots are entwined so deep within you
The ones I beg and curse to let you go
And I remember
that
day
That look in your eyes
Like the abandonment of bare trees
Before the snow
The one you still
Hold
A piece of
You said to me
Help me
Please
The first and only time you had to ask
It took everything I could
Not to break with you
But I held you
And said
That I would try with everything I had
And more
To make you better
Protect you with a vengeance
From
All the seasons that live within you
I will be there in
Your misery
Your loneliness
Your fears
That bitter air you can’t control
The one that leaves me frozen
And near death
But I will forgive you for all of that
Because I get to be the one you love
To be there in the seasons of divine happiness you hold
The ones that make the sorrowful grey days bearable for both of us
I haven’t let you down yet have I?
I know you haven’t let me …believe that please
I will be there for everything not like the rest
I will never abandoned you to the elements of your disasters
I know you wouldn’t survive…
They would find you dead when the winter thawed
Because you can’t seem to tell anyone about the pain
I know
Because it makes you feel so weak in your strength
That you are unable to control your own life
And I protect you because I love you
Not because I feel I have to like you always say
I will be the one who understands
The heart heavy look across the room full of strangers
When it is time to leave
Because I know you can’t hold on
I will be the one who will
Makes you believe in the magic you used to before this began
The one I fell head over heels for
(I am smiling just thinking about that)
Even thought I can’t
Because I condemn God for being so unfair to someone I have always loved
But I have to always keep my eyes to the sky
Keep my part of my faith
For
Only
You
To keep you always safe from the elements of yourself
To take your hand in mine to out run every storm
Or
Barricade the windows
When you can’t quite make it out
I will make it so you survive
The worst
So you can live for the best
Because I know we can never plan for the weather
But I will be there for each
And
Every season of you love
