I have seen this one a few times before, but it is such a powerful painting. People pray and expect answers. What happens when the don’t come? I think you have expressed such frustration beautifully.

I am totally drawn to look in your eyes on this one April…you seem so definite & certain but at the same time saying “just try and stop me now…look what I’ve done, I’m sitting on the ‘edge of good-bye & I really don’t care >>> can you help me or what?” Very expressive & brilliant work my friend! Your portraits of “Hope” speak LOUD volumes & the bass is on bust!

Beautiful. I’ve been looking at her eyes to place the expression. The hardened focus from the other side of suicide; the clarity of realisation.

Reminiscent, to me, at least, of the work of Egon Schiele, on eof my favorite painters. This is stark and as real as a painting gets. Boy, can I relate.

oh my…probably the most intense and emotionally powerful piece of artwork I’ve ever laid eyes on. Just the way the woman is holding up her wrists, and showing her pain. Her eyes straightforward and blunt in the pain and intense emotion the convey….this gives me chills. Brilliantly captured, this is just impressive artwork. xx

  • April Mansilla replied

thank you Erika …such a beautiful compliment ..i am humbled xxx

EMOTIONS ….are ….....and always will be …..there inside…its up to us as individuals wether we share them or not. we should never feel guilty at showing our inner soul….as long as we are not harming anyone. art is meant to be descriptive , individual, exploratory, thought provoking, pleasing, amusing,i could go on. this for me is thought provoking its intense in colour choice and subject. its moving in emotion yet wonderfully painted.
i have often asked the title question myself…....but have been told i shouldnt ask . xx great piece

  • April Mansilla replied

thank you for such a thoughtful personal comment …this is so appreciated xxx
