an enjoyable painting to attempt ~ it’s amazing what wonderful colours and reflections appear when you scrunch up a simple chocolate wrapper. I notice that many of the wrappers these days are metallic. Not that I am complaining! Hope you all enjoy this one

I do know this chocolate bar! Reviled by some and adored by others, like Marmite. I’m in the second category and I ate my fair share in my youth! Great work…the jelly must have been so difficult with the familiar teeth marks…oh yes, I remember it well. The scrunched up paper is a triumph! :D

I have to say that Turkish Delight is my least favourite chocolate bar, but I do love your painting of it though. Oddly, I adore Turkish Delight by itself – the type covered in powder and housed in cardboard boxes. On the subject of chocolate, did you like those chocolate flavoured potato crisps they brought out on trial once – yuk!

Never! A chocolate bar you don’t like? I love these but they don’t last long, or is that because I love them?

Actually, Turkish delight bought in turkey does not have a chocolate covering, possibly because the heat of Turkey would melt it, but that is a taste to behold, you’d love it!

You tease, I can’t stop looking for the two letters now. Well I’ll tell you what I can see first: There’s a concave face in the shadow under the end of the wrapper; there’s a butterfly in the middle of the wrapper at the bottom; there’s a spider’s web over the chocolate, (ok they are cracks in the chocolate); there’s a stylised mushroom under the text on the wrapper;an iced lolly to the right of the mushroom; a coffee pot on the left end of the wrapper; a number “2” next to it and …..

there is a lower case “a” made from the “K” and the “H” of “Turkish”
and an upper case “J” made from the upright of the “K” and the fold in the wrapper! (How did I do?)

As an image however, it is a piece of magic, a shear delight of temptation in chocolate and as ever, the realism is awesome. Absolutely fantastic work. Worth every bit of suffering with that chunk of Turkish Delight in your mouth!

One of my favorite choc bars are Arrows, just think of painting all those bubbles… :)
