I have
Watched a sunset and moon rise simultaneously in the Mexican desert
Worked in an orphanage
Received First Class marks on some writing
Made love with the rain and sea spray lashing down on me on top of a cliff
Been rocked to sleep gently and ferociously by the waves when living on my boat
Inhaled the sulphur in the air after climbing a volcano… in flip-flops
Marvelled at the complexities of language for as long as I remember
Discussed Guatemalan politics over coffee in Antigua
Experienced euphoria by replacing my blood with heroin
Shivered inside a cave on Biarritz beach watching lightning strike the blackened beach before me
Only one regret
Immersed my whole body in icy water in the sea at christmas
Found you
I have never
given birth
felt another woman’s breast with my mouth
had my work published
seen the waves freeze in St. Petersburg
been to 180 of the countries on this earth
travelled in space
tried ayahuasca
but I still have this life…

Wonderful!! The Mexican chapter of your life sounds amazing, as does climbing a volcano…and living on a boat intrigues me so much……….such a fabulous list.
Every time I do this exercise I’m surprised by the acts and achievements that come out of my pen. As for not having been published, well, I’m sure that’ll be next to strike off your list ;-)
