This young hummingbird flew for first time out of the nest…...i was fortunate enough to witness this…as you can see there is no colour yet on young chick…
It tried to fly several times and went back to the nest…..i watched in AWE

Ah Bianca, if it was up to me, I would love to make my living taking pictures. Unfortunately, I would probably starve, and of course I have committments, namely a wife (who will not travel – she has a real phobia about airoplanes) and a daughter who I could not leave for long.
I was made redundant (along with the rest of my department) at the end of last year, after 23 years. I now have a new job (6 weeks in), but unfortunately I don’t get to travel anymore.
Unfortunately, we all have to pay the bills. I know you love what you do, but of course we all have to put up with all the crap as well in order to do what we love.
Hang in there Bianca, what you do is wonderful, and I for one apprecite your work. Please keep it coming.

Oh Tom i consider myself very fortunate ….but u also have to know i am old lady….so all my kids are grown up….i have no chains and shuckles…my husband passed away in fabruary….now i dont need no chains any more….i am free bird…with attached to my body…...and i plan to live very primitive in woods…and enjoy few years i have left with wildlife…Thanks for your ongoing support:)

I’ve seen many, many hummingbird pictures, but this one is really special. OK, you froze the action with just enough movement in the wings to get the sense of movement (the mistake of many is to totally freeze the wings), but what I really like about this is your amazing composition and tonal balance. All the tones work so beautifully together, and though the yellow blob between the bird and the flower might have otherwise distracted, your shallow depth of field has turned this into a beautiful link between the two subjects which appears to be reflected off the bird’s belly. Nice work!

Thank u for support…i was talking to couple out of florida i met on a hiking trail….and hummingbird came up…and he said i have my priority shutter set at 2000 …...so we started disagreeing back and for about it…and its ecatly what i said to him….u dont want the bird to look so un-natural….u wanna let it little soft and try anything between 500 and 800 so that u see wings but not sceleton what i call…usualy when u do that its dark…and i dont like it…i like it like u said to reflect with the enviroment around it…i always spot metter my area around me to determind what kind a light i will get and what my main subject will be set in…its nice to have isolated subject whenever possible…but sometime and many times isnt possible…appreciated lenghtly constructive coment …realy thank u…
