The 6th arrondissement is my home, at least when I am in Paris. I finished my morning coffee, put down the newspaper, and began my day. I first passed the fruit market, heading south toward the Boulevard St. Germain. Past the Marche, the modern recreation of the original roman market that stood here a thousand years ago, I turned the corner. St. Sulpice in the distance, I took stock of the view in front of me, pulled out my camera, and began to shoot.

Thank you for the invitation, Sandra. I’m sorry I was out of pocket for a few months (getting married takes up a lot of time!) and am sad to have missed the challenge. Please keep me in mind for the future, though!

the heart of a great city isn’t always it’s famous monuments .. it’s the gray morning light, it’s the stones in the walls of the buildings … it’s the bicycle leaning against a street sign. Beautifully captured!!!!!
