Mary was my friend and my confidante.
She was always there for me
To listen, to share, to comfort, pray
And to laugh with
When we chatted on the phone
I always knew that God was with us.
She was so kind and warm and funny
I’m very glad that she’s at last with her John
And her parents and dear Jeffrey cat
But so terribly sad that she’s not around
With us anymore
At least there is great comfort in that we
Shall meet again in a sunnier place,
So we can once more share, love and
My close friend Mary died recently. I wrote these words in her grown-up children’s cards which I sent them. I do miss her. Death is so difficult. It seems so final. But I know it isn’t really, I just have to be patient; very patient, until I get to see dear Mary and my other loved ones again…
