This is a white rhino, in Kenya. They are endangered. In Zimbabwe there are only – wait for it – 2 left in the wild! The authorities have taken to cutting off their horns to stop the poachers. But after spending time tracking the dehorned creatures, the poachers shoot them anyway…

Wonderful photo. I would have loved to have seen one on my trips to Africa. I was surprised when I saw the horn on this one, I thought they still cut them off.
