Amazing Encounter
This was the moment in Rwanda just before this young mountain gorilla, Ntakibazo came up to me and touched my face. He was extremely curious. Just as curious as we were of him. I shall never forget this moment. As soon as he touched me all hell broke loose and the guides made a lot of fuss and made me move away. You see it is not a good idea to encourage this behaviour. I could have stayed there all day, being touched by my new furry friend. I felt extremely blessed and privileged.

What a wonderful experience you have had. few one earth will ever feel that touch. Have you spent a lot of time there? Was it one trip or many?

Just the one trip in September. we were only allowed to sit with them for 1 hour. I will never forget that amazing touch. I have just applied to work at an ape rescue centre in Camaroon for 1 month and have been told that I will be interviewed in March. Please cross your fingers for me as there are only 2 places for this year. If I get it I will be working in close contact with gorillas, chimps and monkeys – a lifelong dream
