Bobendina
This is dear little Bobendina. She is a preuss guenon monkey and I had the great privilege of being her Mummy for a while in Cameroon whilst working at the Limbe Wildlife Centre.
Her mother was killed illegally by a hunter. She was the sweetest thing you ever did see. These monkeys are highly endangered. When she slept in my room in her box the only peep I heard out of her was a little scratching of leg in the middle of the night.
Just before I left Cameroon Bobendina was introduced to a family of Preuss monkeys, in a large cage. On my last day I went to see her and she looked at me and put out her hand through the bars. Oh gosh it was very hard. I hope she is okay now.
I feel sad when I see her picture.

Oh what a cutie, she’s got such wordly soulful eyes for a young ‘un. Shame about her mother, but it’s a common story though isn’t it? Good shot though.
ApeArt replied
Yes it is all too common, unfortunately, thanks for your comments

I am sure she will be fine Jane. The preuss can be a little fiesty, but they have a great social sturcture within their family units – so I am feeling very positive for little Bobendina
ApeArt replied
Oh good Jul. Thanks :)
