Densities 10

I will not be disappointed in the outcome
I already did that
I left scratch marks in the well’s stone walls
I wrote that child’s nightmare a thousand times
running down the railroad tracks
out of breath on rubber stilts
up the glacial ravine
the vertical leaps
requiring defiance of gravity
adding more and more
to my true vocabulary
with my dumb alphabet
no longer able to scream
in the dark
out loud

    I adore your imagery,
    Each line is measured brilliance.

  • I appreciate your appreciation, which leaves me mum. I am writing these while riding on my motorcycle… I write them in my head and then try to memorize them… and edit them… whatever I remember when I get home to write, is what they are. Of course there are lots and lots more words while riding… but they blow away like the scenery…

I write when walking and I too try to memorise but more often than not the words have been left on the path behind me.

  • yes! I tell myself when the process begins: do it for free. for the wind.

it’s hard for me to come up with proper adjectives when it comes to commenting on your work.
i suppose it’s the same when someone views a painting from one of the great artists for the first time.
sometimes there is nothing to say, no sounds to be uttered…only silence…and a feeling of home.
