This is awesome- I love the freedom. Not just saying that it feels like looking into someones psyche! Awesome!

  • Thanks Nathan~ I have always loved doing collaborations. I also taught art to “developmentally disabled adults” who were all legally blind. I thought a lot of the that work was some of the best I have ever Seen! just watching blind (they all had some level of sight… like tunnel vision etc)… Make art was the real Art. One woman would chant while she intermittantly gave instructions to the brush in her hand: “gently gently barely touching…”

too bad you didn’t film these wonderful interactions. Anthony not only is the work cool, but the whole alive interaction is an act of love. really if you discover another gem like this, ask if you can film snippets for doc. :))

  • thanks Y~ I have been lucky to have several such fascinating relationships throughout my social working life… sometimes ‘the moments’ that amaze, can’t be captured… only an artifact sometimes, like a drawing… over a cup of coffee at five am….

Was Mary an “artistic” individual when she was younger? When I see the extremely creative work done by the oldsters in their art classes I think of you and Mary and how grand it is for them to continue to use or discover what art brings….

  • yes! Mary was an art teacher and oil painter. She could draw well too.

Ahhh…then this must have made her life much brighter in the dark world as her sight faded : to “feel” the skill again.

  • connection. it’s all about connecting and re-connecting… each time is what it has always been about!
