Snowy Owl SC

I think this is the first time I was able to get as close as I was to this beautiful fellow. I was so pleased when I uploaded it onto the computer and saw the results.

Believe me this has had selective colouring on the shot it is just that the owl is mainly white. The original shot was taken in The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre & Animal Park in Cornwall. I have been playing about with it again; a crop here to focus tight on his beautiful eyes and selective colouring there and this is the result which I love. I hope you like it and thank you for viewing. The selective colouring was made in Photoshop Elements 6

This beautiful owl was in his pen posing for me and I just got as close as I could and used my 70 – 300mm zoom lens to shot him. Then in Photoshop gave him a really tight crop and a little sharpness, then used selective colouring for his eyes and that was it. Thanks again. Tony

wanted to add – The Crop is way more powerful an image than the card version. Suggest maybe a similar crop for the card….

Much better now…. far stronger looking…. I used an image of a snowy some time back that I made into a photoshop brush and repainted it….. Love the crisp detail in this image once again and the almost painterly feel to it! Great image!

this owl is gorgeous!
the detail in the little hairs of the feathers is remarkable, the nose is nice and glossy to a fine sheen and shine, the eyes are very content and the slight shading inside the eyes against the pupils is outstanding.
