The Holy City
The Holy City of Varanasi on the Ganges River, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world.
Towards the middle of the picture, you can see the smoke and flames of the funeral pyres. Hindus are cremated here, and their ashes are returned to the holy river, believed to end the cycle of birth and rebirth.
Varanasi is the most Indian of Indian cities.
