It was the perfect time of day and the perfect location to take a photo of the marvelous building.
Lake Palace, Udaipur, originally known as Jag Niwas, was built in 1754 by Maharana Jagat Singh II who gave his name to this elegant building. Originally built as a cool summer retreat for the royal family, it is now a modern luxury hotel. Actually the most expensive hotel in India …
The only way to arrive at the hotel is by boat.
I hope you enjoy this photo as much as I enjoyed eating curry at the restaurant this was taken from. They kept bringing more and more ‘papad’ out for us …. well, we couldn’t insult our gracious hosts by not eating it, could we??
