Well first things first, the preview thumbnail doesn’t do this image any justice at all!
There’s a strange but comfortable contradiction of the impression of a “monk smoking” that many people might find interesting as I have. I think that wheres a majority of the visual impetus is derived from at least in IMHO.
His impressed persona his gentle and relaxed and the years of dedication show vaguely in the smooth and subtly wrinkled skin texture. I really love the sepia-like tonal quality as for me it equates my westernized impression of humility and reverence I’d expect from a monk. The vignette works well to focalise the subject with a kind and gentle accent.

You’dve become a millioinaire from promoting smoking campaigns with this pic 20 or so years ago! How times have changed in our society, heh? I bet this fella has been oblivious to all of that, and still enjoys every moment! Fantastic image, Anthony! Well taken (perfect DOF), great treatment – very well done!

The monk is cute :) his face has so much character and his expression is so mischievious, as if he’s breakin’ the ruels and he knows. smoking round the back of the bike sheds ^_-

Anthony, I have seen your photos in some travel magazines- I cant remember exactly what ones but they are truly amazing- well done!

I’m not sure honestly! It was somewhere whilst I was in Europe- I think it had to do with an Intriped Travel advertisement or something like that! Do you mind me asking what sort of camera you use? I’m an avid traveller, and am no slowly taking my photography obsession a bit more seriously! Anyfeed back would be appreciated! But pls keep up the awesome pics- theyre some of the best ive seen so far! :)
