Surrender

How do I define the
essence of desire?
A rose tattoo that cuts my skin.
A black sun that holds the light.

The head the gatekeeper
The heart the wild child
The head the protective adult
The heart the dancing adolescent
who longs to be free.

Temptation so divine
The pull of your heart
Latches onto mine
We dance together and then apart.

It is a blue rose, pink blossom
in a white night
A red wave crashing to the shore
That washes out the light.

A liquid smile
Eyes dancing with life
Lips shut tight
Until our smiles break into joie de vivre.

It is a constant song
It is a rare dance
It envelopes me
like gloves over my fingers.

It is a layered art
It is a wild and powerful lyric
It is Contained
It takes me places I have never been…

It is Surrender.
