Tall poppy syndrome (TPS) is a pejorative term primarily used in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other Anglosphere nations to describe a social phenomenon in which people of genuine merit are resented, attacked, cut down, or criticised because their talents or achievements elevate them above or distinguish them from their peers.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is the second of the series.

Creating art and writing is like breathing to me, it keeps me alive. If I stop creating my world shrinks and contracts. When I start to create again it expands and is filled with colour. I feel whole. To create is to be completely, unabashedly alive.

it used to be called envy,,anthea,,,honest achievement is to be applauded,,but,,pettiness seems to prevail,,malcontent, knows no,depth to drag, others down, to their, sad level,,hugz anthea, rough ideas come out drawing loose and imaginative ,

  • Yes indeed Walt it is called Envy. Bravo indeed Honest Achievement is to be applauded. I have struggled with the Tall Poppy Syndrome and oppose this negative attitude with all that I am. In my work I encourage and empower vulnerable women to be Tall Poppies an to shine and live the lives fully that they are born to live. I feel this very strongly Walt. Thank you my friend from your support and response to my drawing.
