Introducing … Faces, Figures, Females

A Fourth Collaboration between Reynaldo and Anthea

In 2009 and 2010 Reynaldo and I collaborated on three major collaborations The Passion Series, A Tribute to Womanhood and Sensuality and Sensitivity. Since that wonderful journey we have wanted to collaborate together again and now in 2012 the time is right and we are coming together again to collaborate on the Faces, Figures, Females Series through 30/30 paintings, drawings and poems we explore the face, figure, female through different styles, stories, symbolism, meanings and feelings.

It is such a immense pleasure and heart joy to collaborate with the brilliant, gifted, imaginative and beautiful artist Reynaldo who’s amazing art and stories I have deeply admired and loved here on Redbubble over the past three years.

We hope you enjoy the journey of our fourth collaboration as much as we enjoy creating Faces, Figures, Females and sharing with you.

Creating art and writing is like breathing to me, it keeps me alive. If I stop creating my world shrinks and contracts. When I start to create again it expands and is filled with colour. I feel whole. To create is to be completely, unabashedly alive.

love your style with the offsetting Blue on the top half brings the painting to a more focal point and your talent shines in this piece dear xxx

  • Oh Rey thank you so much for loving my Lady of Leaves and I want to say thank you so much for your inspiration and suggestion of including the blue. I think the blue grounded her and brought her alive. Your incredible knowledge and generosity of sharing I treasure and value very much. Your Corn Rows is just outstanding, commanding mesmerising. What a great joy it is to be collaborating again dear Rey. xxx

Wow. I love both of these. In Rey’s work the intensity is unquestionable. In yours Anthea, also the intensity reaches out…yet while both women’s gaze asks the viewer to answer honestly, each one is speaking her own language. This through the use of colors, pose, and setting. I really love the creative scale in the theme. Really good work.

  • Ken I truly appreciate so much your intelligent and perceptive response to the differing intensities in both Rey and my work. Your insight and clarity of vision is very encouraging. Thank you so much.
