This is a portrait of my father as a young man. My father passed away when I was only 8 years old and he was just 41. He was a beautiful man, father and husband to my mother.

Creating art and writing is like breathing to me, it keeps me alive. If I stop creating my world shrinks and contracts. When I start to create again it expands and is filled with colour. I feel whole. To create is to be completely, unabashedly alive.

Your whole family is blessed with wonderful genes dear Anthea beauty and talent.

  • Renate thank you so much for saying that. Mum and Dad were very equal in looks and their intelligence. They had exactly the same IQ. Which is really amazing. I loved your beautiful comment.

a beautiful drawing of a very handsome man your father .well done Anthea !LIz

  • Yes he was such a great man – kind and filled with great wisdom. He taught me so much and I only had him for 8 years. His greatest gift was unconditional love. He was such a humanitarian and had a great understanding of human nature.
