A Tribute to Womanhood

Collaboration between Reynaldo and Anthea

VAMPIRE featured in CORE on 28 Feb 10

VAMPIRE was created with Watercolour Pencils.

My VAMPIRE was inspired by Rey’s beautiful, mesmerising Vampire.

VAMPIRE and The Vampire is the 36th Upload of our 40/40 Collaboration a Tribute to Womanhood and our 6th upload of our fourth Mini Series Archetypes. For the next 4 uploads we will be celebrating the women archetypes from the Shadow to the Warrior to the Crone to Eternal Girl to Madonna to Mother to Courtesan to Vampire to Muse.

It is such a pleasure to collaborate with the brilliant and gifted artist Reynaldo because he has brilliant mind, magnificent imagination and a beautiful heart.

Please enjoy.

About Anthea Slade

Creating art and writing is like breathing to me, it keeps me alive. If I stop creating my world shrinks and contracts. When I start to create again it expands and is filled with colour. I feel whole. To create is to be completely, unabashedly alive.

I really like both of them! The first one has a very, very interesting expression, to me looks more like a very innocent Vampire…:) I love it!
Great pieces of artworks, Cograts to both! Great use of lines and colors!

  • Oh thank you Betty I love your interpretation of my Vampire and that she is an innocent Vampire. Rey’s Vampire has more experience. Both Rey and I truly appreciate your beautiful comments on our collaborative works.

I’d like to join in Elisabeta’s idea that yours is such an innocent vampire with more heartblood than blood stolen from other people. It’s about love and hearts and hopes and romance.Reynaldo’s is more dangerous……………for me a vampire man and I would not like to cross his way…..but she did unfortunately

  • I think Elisabeta maybe right too. I love your interpretation Ruth and how you see that she has heartblood of her own rather then stealing blood from other people. Your narrative is perfect and I like how you interpret Rey’s Vampire too. Thank you so much my dear friend. xx

Gorgeous art-work Anthea love the the different color eyes your vampire is really adorable her expression says well I will bite you if have to. Both are fantastic works of art…bravo great collaboration again.

  • Oh Renate thank you so much for for your beautiful comment and so glad you like her red and blue eye and her expression. Makes me happy that you find her adorable. I think I was trying to create a pretty vampire who was torn between being woman and a vampire and reading your comment I think I may have come close :)

Wow, I am reading the comments and the more I think about it, it seems yours Anthea, with the two different eyes is more innocent because maybe she is in the process of turning – still half and half. Just a thought. Both are absolutely incredible. I especially love vampires so this is a real treat to see such a collaboration between you two brilliant artists! Awesome amazing work!!! xoxoxo

  • Dear Shar I think you are right about her being half and half and in the process of turning a Vampire. I love your comments and like you I have always been intrigued and captivated by Vampires. I love Rey’s Vampire too…she is very powerful and commanding…and maybe she is a full Vampire. We both thank you so much Shar for your beautiful comment on our Vampires. xx
