My Top 10 Movie Series and Features

My top 10 Movie Series (which is now 14) started as a challenge to myself to create a likeness to the actors and actresses of some of my favourite movies of all time. I wanted to capture a likeness that was more emotive and expressionistic where the viewer could see who they were but it went beyond the realm of realistic representation.

Most of my artwork comes from my imagination, it may be triggered by an image seen or poem written but imagination quickly takes control and my artworks have a life of their own. So the movie series was a different challenge for me.

I have enjoyed creating my Movie Series so much that when I reached 10 I just wanted to keep going…so as it stands it is 14 and I cannot promise it has ended lol. I thought I would put a journal together of the featur…

Mostly black and white with accents of colour, more prose than poetry, a return to ink defines first half of 2011 & Features!

2011 is almost half way through as the last days of June draw near. And what a dramatic, traumatic and intense six months it has been. Very different to how I imagined it to be. In my art, this half of 2011 has seen me favour black and white (with accents and highlights of colour) over colour, after my six colourful paintings in Man Series in January. In my writing I have written more prose than poetry, although I did manage a poem on the 9 June 2011 :) It has also seen me take up using ink after a very long break. The last time I used ink was painting Vincent Van Gogh when I was 18 :) I am enjoying very much experimenting with ink and often use it in conjunction with watercolour and acrylic. I have not posted a summary of features for over three months so I thought I would post them h…
