A Hair Story – Rapunzel is the 22nd painting/drawing/poem upload of our Tribute to Womanhood Collaboration and the first of our Fairy Tales & Myths mini series.
For next eigtht uploads we will be focusing on women as fairy tale characters from a fresh and new perspective.

Working with the brilliant, highly gifted artist/painter Reynaldo is a great honour and a pleasure. His imagination and his talent is limitless and his generosity and kindness of spirit is truly inspiring.

A Hair Story

Rapunzel’s heart beat with extreme excitement, never before had she been so close to such a gallant knight. His eyes, brown and intense drank her in. She could feel the pull of his desire connect to her longing. Her blood pounded in her chest. ‘Here I am. I have outwitted the witch and waited patiently observing you from a distance and now I want you.’ His eyes full of hunger pierced into her body and she trembled. ’ ‘I want to know you. Really know you, I have been so isolated here in my tower longing for such a brave knight as you. A man of tenacity and resourcefulness who could mentally outsmart the witch and you are here and I want to connect and I long to know your truth.’ she said. ‘Ah, my truth, do you think you can handle my truth? He questioned. ‘The brighter the sun, the darker the shadows that are cast. I want to know the man inside the knight.’ She mused. ‘My shadow could be grey or even black and you may find it too much to stay and listen. Isn’t the fact that I am here now and I have waited for you enough? ’ He said looking away. Taking his eyes from her felt like being thrown into the cold dark night of the witch’s world. ‘Your actions are what caught my attention and makes me want to learn more about you. And I have waited too. Oh my have I waited. I want to know the battles you have fought, the dragons you have slain, your defeats, your victories, doubts, fears, how your mind imagines and how your heart feels. I want to know you intimately.’ He turned back to look at her and she could feel the warmth from his eyes on her and she smiled. His charisma and energy ignited her spirit and aroused such yearning in her. ‘It may not be pretty, it may be different to what you expect and imagine but I will share myself with you. Where would you like me to start?’ He asked tenderly. ‘I want to know the journey that has brought you to me. You know my prince the single most powerful act we can do is share our vulnerability.’ She walked towards him and stood beside him as he looked out of from the tower to the distant land. She whispered in his ear. So tell me where your story begins and how you got here?
