Looks like maybe a “gum ball”, the dried seeds of a Sweet Gum tree that scatter the ground.
My brothers used to throw them and start gum ball fights in the yard, Ouch, they stung!!
Green at first, they turn hard and brown. Are these the ones? You have me in suspense, Antanas. :)

Chestnut pods are from a chestnut tree they are round and spikey, very sharp on the inside they hold a chestnut which you can eat or grow as a seed.
My neighbor has the tree, they are quite dangerous when they become ripe and fall. If you get hit in the head or step on one, it hurts really bad.
